Monthly creative classes, designed for young people aged 10 - 16. This is a chance to learn new creative techniques, play, explore, have fun and connect with others.
Latest courses and workshops
Textiles | 5th February 3-5pm Flax Bourton Church
Using fabric and stitch, we’ll explore a range of simple textile techniques.
Taking an experimental approach, we’ll then explore links between fabric and stitch, using hand and machine sewing to create a final textile collage.
This workshop is all about breaking boundaries between different art forms and playing with curiosity and courage.
Lino Printing | 5th March 3-5pm Flax Bourton Church
During this relaxing 2-hour workshop, we’ll share a selection of lino cutting techniques and various sources of inspiration, before offering students the chance to create their own lino printing blocks.
Using coloured inks and various papers, students are then invited to make prints and fine-tune their designs. They’ll leave with their own printing blocks and a stylish print (or two) to take home.
Let’s make art with A.I | 30th April 3-5pm, online
Today, artificial Intelligence is being used across almost every industry – and it’s changing fast. In this workshop, students will learn about the basics of AI, and play with some of the latest creative tools.
Give your photos a Van Gogh or O’Keeffe re-style. Transform a few words into six pieces of art. Turn any picture in your mind into a downloadable photograph. Turn your own mindful patterns into a filter. There’s so much to explore.
As part of the workshop, we’ll also talk about the wider impact of AI, ethical considerations and have a short chat about students’ responses to this ever-evolving technology.
No tech experience or coding skills are required. Just a sense of adventure and a willingness to explore.
Students will leave the workshop with:
-A deeper understanding of machine learning and how it can be used to make art and extend creative thinking.
-Your own pieces of art created using a range of AI tools.
-An understanding of AI creative platforms you can use.
-Tools, tips and resources to help you make your own creative work with AI at home.
